IT Liaison

Job description

The IT Liaison acts as a multi-purpose hands-on local IT contact point in Luanda International Airport (NBJ).

The function does not require specific IT expertise but does require English language skills.

The responsibilities of the IT Liaison are:

  • Help the end-users to communicate with the IT Service Desk / IT Department / Local IT Manager

    • Call the IT Service Desk, follow-up ticket

    • Act as (additional) on-site contact for the IT Service Desk

    • Help users who are unable to communicate in English (the IT Service Desk is only available in English)

    • Handle communication with local airport IT

    • Arrange access for third party suppliers to the computer room

  • Perform some small technical tasks (according to simple predefined procedures - not requiring IT expertise)

    • Unpack PC/laptop and connect to network

    • Start/restart PC's on request of IT Service Desk or Local IT Manager

    • Restart router or switch

    • Connect or disconnect a network cable in a router or switch

    • Restart local server

The IT Liaison reports functionally to, and works very closely with, the Local IT Manager.

Job requirements

  • experience in a support function is a strong plus

  • strong communication skills; convincing and diplomatic

  • eager to learn

  • flexible mind (the function takes place in a rapidly changing work environment; today's priority can suddenly be completely different from yesterday's priority)

  • fluent command in Portuguese and English
