    • Valencia Airport, Spain

Job description

ome and join Aviapartner as a Ramp and Baggage Agent!

Would you like to work in a dynamic yet friendly airport environment? Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for loading and unloading aircraft. It is a physical job, but it also requires thinking and attention to detail; baggage must be loaded into the aircraft in the correct position. Is this combination of physical work and problem-solving ideal for you? Apply now!

Who are we?

Aviapartner is one of the largest independent ground handling operators, serving 70 airports across 7 European countries (Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the Netherlands) as well as South Africa.

In Spain, we have approximately 2,000 employees, including ramp, operations, and passenger service agents. We operate at 15 airports, including the country's main hubs such as Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Valencia, Ibiza, and Tenerife South, among others.

We are a company with plenty of opportunities for growth and development.

What will you do?

As a Ramp Agent, you are responsible for handling our passengers' baggage. One day you may be working in the baggage sorting area, while the next day you could be working on the apron—it is a varied and engaging job!

In the baggage sorting area, you ensure that all luggage is correctly sorted according to its destination. Naturally, our goal is to make sure every bag reaches the right destination.

On the apron, you literally work “under the wings.” As soon as an aircraft arrives at its parking stand and the engines are shut down, you spring into action. You place wheel chocks around the aircraft's wheels and position safety cones in the designated areas. You then connect the ground power unit and position the stairs at the aircraft.

This is where your physical strength comes into play: you ensure that baggage and cargo are unloaded from the aircraft. Once the aircraft is empty, the outgoing passengers' luggage is loaded into the correct compartments so that the aircraft can depart safely once again.

And of course, all of these tasks are carried out in accordance with the procedures and safety standards established by the different airlines.

Job requirements

ou are strategic, and both your own safety and that of your colleagues are a top priority. You will be challenged to ensure that aircraft are loaded on time. Shift work is not a problem for you, and if you are passionate about aviation, you have come to the right place.

Additionally, you will need:

  • A minimum qualification equivalent to compulsory secondary education (ESO).

  • Previous experience is not required, although it will be considered an asset.

  • A valid Category B driving licence.

  • Availability to work weekends.

  • Availability to attend a mandatory, fully paid in-person training course lasting approximately one week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Battery connection and charging.

  • Placement and removal of aircraft wheel chocks.

  • Loading and unloading baggage from aircraft.

  • Transporting baggage on the apron.

  • Placement and removal of aircraft stairs.

  • Placement and removal of ASU (Air Start Unit) equipment.

  • Refuelling and cleaning vehicles.

  • Connecting and disconnecting the pushback tow bar.

  • Placement and removal of cargo handling equipment.

  • Inspection, receipt, and dispatch of cargo.

  • Securing cargo and freight.

  • Mechanical handling of loads using a forklift.

  • Driving and operating motorized vehicles as required.
